Austin Greeners clinch a spot in 2024 UBA Playoffs

Austin will bring their show to Atlanta for the 2k24 UBA Playoff Classic. 

ATLANTA – The Austin Greeners have officially qualified for the UBA postseason and will be the No. 1 seed in the Gold Conference, August 2-5, at Evolve Sports Complex in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Greeners won the Gold Conference showdown versus the Captial City Jokers 70-49 to punch their ticket to Atlanta. The team was founded in 2018 by Geoff Harner of Austin, Texas.  The Greeners dominated the Texas Gold Conference Playoffs with a stellar 4-0 record (6-4 overall).

"This will be our return to the Playoffs in many years", said Harner.  We pride ourselves on giving opportunities to the next generation.  We just want to come to Atlanta and compete.  

This year's edition of the Austin Greeners features key returnees such as Geoff Harner and Jelani Jackson along with some exciting first-time additions. Jackson was named MVP of the Gold Conference Showcase after scoring a game high 22 points (10 assists) in final win over the Jokers.    

For the ninth-straight year, Austin will be led by Geoff Harner, current Greeners player/director of player development. Harner has a world of experience from Mexico, Kosovo, Dominican Republic and Germany.  Gold Conference Director A.J. Irwin will help assist the Austin club to Atlanta for the second straight season

"We love summers in Atlanta," Irwin said. "I love to improve the Austin market and give these young guys a chance to be around successful people.  Atlanta is better than the playoffs.  It gives the guys an opportunity to meet the directors and scouts to move on to the next level.  That has always been my focus.  

The winner of the Georgia Regional will play the winner of the Texas Regional in the quarterfinals on Aug. 2 or 3 (official game date, time and location TBA).
