Portland appointed as the Pacific Division
The Universal Basketball Association (UBA) announced that Portland has been added to the 2021 expansion division. Located in Portland, Oregon. The division will be managed by Oregon Fresh owner Curtis Richardson Hill.
"We are committed to growing," stated UBA commissioner Michael Davis. We have been watching the Oregon market for years now. We feel that Mr. Hill is the perfect person to head the Pacific Division.
The division is a tribute to the late Jay Bowdy; former owner of the North Texas Fresh of the league. Bowdy passed away January 23, 2017.
"It was very important to me and the UBA to pay our respect to our lost brother", said Hill. History is a very important part of my organization. Building a division is just the start of things to come. But foundation is very important to me. So the Fresh name and brand will live on.
The Pacific Division will have five active teams which include the Oregon Fresh, Portland Weird, VanPort Renaissance, Rose City Reign and Kitsap Admirals.
